JAX BEACH, Florida (Dec. 6, 2011) Jacksonville Beach native, Nick Perganda, won the latest stop of the Bum Rush Tour, an ambush style contest that gives a cheap champagne shower and a one thousand dollar check to the winner of the impromptu event. Perched on the Pier the Sun Bum judges secretly scored the 25 random surfers who were taking full advantage of the clean shoulder-high conditions not knowing they were in the middle of a 20-minute winner take all contest. “Nick definitely had the best style out there,” said judge Dustin Smith. “He caught the most and best waves and really looked like he was having fun out there.”
“I can’t believe it,” beamed Nick, “when they called my name that I won a contest I thought it was a joke. I plan to pay off some bills with the money. I still can’t believe it!”
